Equality and Diversity Policy

PBI is committed to working towards a single equality scheme, and aims to combat all forms of discrimination in regard to the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, Disability Discrimination Act 2005, Equality Act 2006. Employment Equality :(Age) Regulations 2006, Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003, Religion or Belief Regulations 2003. Welsh Language Act 1993, Welsh Language Measures 2007, Single Equality Act 2010 and other legislation or proposed legislation under the framework.

We recognise that our ability to meet the needs of our clients is improved by having a diverse workforce which reflects the Welsh population and the wider community and are firmly committed to developing an inclusive working environment, providing equality of opportunity and parity of treatment for all our employees, subcontractors, clients, partners and stakeholders regardless of gender, age, disability, marital status, family / carer responsibilities, race, nationality, ethnicity, colour, religion/belief, political affiliation, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, political activity, unrelated criminal convictions, language and other irrelevant criteria.

However, it is the policy of PBI to look beyond the traditional concept of disadvantaged groups and recognizes the need to value each individual, in their own right, regardless of whether or not they belong to any particular section of society.  These values will also inform the conduct of PBI, and all people involved in it will be considered of equal value and afforded equal treatment regardless of

  • ethnicity
  • sex
  • social background
  • ability/disability
  • HIV/AIDS
  • belief
  • age

  • nationality/citizenship
